Our mission is to increase the health and welfare of the horse and companion animal, which in turn will increase the enjoyment and success of their owners. We do this by providing services such as digital radiography, diagnostic ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, tonometry, specialty dental services, and shock wave therapy. The veterinarians attend regular continuing education classes and network with specialists at referral centers.
At Sturgis Veterinary Hospital we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your horse or companion animal when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.
HOSPITAL POLICIES
Appointments: To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Regular appointment hours are Monday-Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Please call (605) 347-4436 to make an appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please consider that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time. Our time is very valuable which is why we ask that you kindly give us 24 hours notice if you are unable to keep an appointment.
When scheduling an appointment from a referring veterinarian, please inform the receptionist of any x-rays or other diagnostics that may be a useful reference. Arrangements may be made to have them sent to the veterinarian for reviewing before the appointment date.
Payments: Payment is expected at time of service: For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, cash and personal checks. Hours: We accept appointments Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to
5:00 pm. The office is also open on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
