The first session of our Doggy Dayz of Spring series was a great success!
Trooper Dennis Mez and his dog Brix were the guests of honor this week.
To our surprise they were joined by Trooper Brian Swets and his Dutch Shepherd, Rocko!
We learned many interesting facts about what is involved in the selection, the training and the daily care of these highly intelligent service dogs.
The team gave us an impressive demonstration on the detection of narcotics.
These dogs are amazingly energetic and had no problem sniffing out a hidden heroin-scented cotton ball!
They love to work and it shows. To them it’s about the fun and excitement of the hunt.
The reward is often their favorite toy.
Thank You Troopers Dennis Mez and Brian Swets for making this event a one of a kind!
We are proud to announce our Doggy Dayz of Springevent.
It is a “paws-on” workshop for you and your companion to learn about fun activities you can do together.
Beginning this Saturday, April 9th at 1:00pm we have planned four fun weekly workshops for you and your dog. Cost per session is $5, or $15 for the series. This will help offset our speakers’ cost for their time and travel.
Our first guest will be State Trooper Mez with is service dog Brix! He “nose” all about sniffing out drugs.
The second session on Saturday April 16th at 1:00pm will feature the Wolfpack Working Dogs. They will do a Search and Rescue Demo. Let’s play hide and seek!
The third session, Saturday April 23rd at 1:00pm, will involve herding and working dogs presented by Tracy Miller. The animals to be herded will be a total surprise!
In the final session, Saturday April 30th at 1:00pm, Susan D. Anderson will teach us about agility training. Show off your canine’s capabilities!
We still have a few openings so stop in or call us to sign up today!
Spectators are welcome (no charge)!
